Planning
and Coordination
This new Liebherr A974B Material Handler
involved the coordination of one main piece
on 13 axles and 5 parts loads as well as
crane selection and route planning via Washington,
Montana and Saskatchewan to achieve spring
axle weight restrictions through to northern
Alberta. Load planning and permit approvals
for loads like these can require a month
or more of lead time.

Exceptionally
Wide Load
This spider gear, at 18 ft wide, was transported from Green Valley, AZ to Richmond,
BC where it was delivered to a speciality fabrication shop for machining before
being transported on to Kemmess Mine, 12 hours north of Mackenzie B.C. This
exceptionally wide load required police escorts in various U.S. jurisdictions
as well as the usual multiple pilot cars. Engineering studies of bridge structures
were necessary for permit approval and sections of road had to be closed during
travel in B.C. |

Storage
and Transport
In January 2005, we transported 15 heat exchangers from Lynnterm Docks in Vancouver
to Triton’s Langley, B.C. yard for storage. After 4 months, they were
transported to Edmonton, AB on expandable flat decks with jeeps to meet Alberta
spring weight restrictions. |
